Imagine you’re going to make some nice artwork for this customer, but when you start looking on the web for some stuff there’s just too much available and half of it is copyright protected.
In this guide I will explain some handy sites I used recently and some inspirational work from different companies

Ogilvy and Mather

This company makes loads of stuff for all kinds of things. Just check their international Portfolio
I would personally recommend you the posts they make about “Best of OGILVY”.

De Nederlandse tuinbouw

Okay, okay I know what you’re thinking… a Dutch site! But yeah the designers realy did some nice and renewing work here. Although the the technique is not that new the concept of applying this to a website is realy Genius.
The website is made as an advertising project, but it became so popular that school around are using it to teach their student’s everything about production in bigger companies and workprocesses in the agarics sector.

There are so many stocks out there with materials that are just great to use in your work. But the price tags they’re carrying are just so high.
Here are some nice ones which actually don’t cost anything

Stock SXC

Just make a free account and just start downloading all kinds of really High-Ress pictures.
None of the pictures (watch out for the links to real stock sites these are adds) will cost you a penny and you can use them for anything without working illegal

Almost every font placed is free simply look for your style, font-type or theme and download your perfect font to use it on any system.
But watch out though always check the readme.txt that comes with the Font-download. Some people uploaded their fonts with the free for personal use right. So when you’re going pro you still need to pay.

imagine you need to make some nice logo for this company called “tree huggers” but seriously what colors are you going to take? Of course you can perform these big researches about colors, emotions, etc. but what if someone already did that for you? But what if you could just type the word tree or hug on some kind of random site and get all colors with their respective descriptions. I covered this website up in the Tutorial about smiley’s and you can basically read how to work with this website in that article. But there’s more to get from this website. Sure you can look for specific colors and nice patterns but there’s also an option that let’s you search Patterns! So do you need to make some kind of patterned wallpaper or Mood board for your customer? Save your time designing them. They are free! Basically this website is AWESOME and I personally recommend you to make a free account yourself. Made something with nice colors yourself? Post it there to help the community grow.
